Former BJP Rajya Sabha MP Dinanath Mishra dies

Former member of the and writer Dinanath Mishra died today after a prolonged illness. He was 76.

He was ailing for sometime and admitted to a hospital recently for treatment.

Mishra was MP from 1998 to 2004. He started his career as a journalist and served as editor of mouthpiece Panchajanya from 1971 to 1974. Later he worked as editor of Navbharat Times.

Originally from Gaya in Bihar, he moved with his family to in 1967.

He is survived by his wife, son and three daughters.

Condoling his death, President said it is a personal loss to him.

"As an MP, Dinanath Mishra served the people as an honest and hardworking public servant. Till his last breath, he provided fresh energy to journalism through his writings," Singh said, adding Mishra was a thinker, intellectual and a dedicated party worker.
