The BJP has fielded Shobha Rani, wife of former BSP MLA B L Kushwah following his conviction in a murder case, as its candidate from the Dholpur assembly seat.
Rani today filed her nomination for the by-election slated to be held on April 9 in the presence of BJP MP and state chief minister Vasundhara Raje's son Dushyant Singh and other senior party leaders.
While BJP candidate filed the nomination, Opposition Congress is yet to field its candidate for the scheduled elect
Rani, wife of former BSP MLA Kushwah, had joined the BJP last month. Kushwah's membership was terminated after a court convicted him in a murder case.
