Acting on an information, the police recovered the bodies wrapped in plastic sheets floating in the river for several days, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jugal Kishore said.
It was suspected that the bodies might have been thrown in the river after post-mortem of the dead persons in Purnia district, he said.
An investigation was underway in the matter, the DSP said.
