Four persons, including a couple, were today killed when the car carrying them hit a culvert and plunged into a canal on the National Highway 16, police said.
The mishap occurred near Geddapalem area of Adduroad area under S Rayavaram police station limits, they said.
The deceased were identified as B Srinivasa Rao (50) and his wife B Sridevi (45) and his relatives Ch Anjaneya Prasad (50) and G Ramana (44), police said.

The accident took place when the four were heading towards Vijayawada. Prasad was driving the car and he lost control over the vehicle, said Inspector of Nakkapalle police station GR Babu.
Their bodies were later fished out and have been sent to government hospital for postmortem, he said, adding a probe was underway.
