Four killed, two injured in fire and explosion

Four persons were killed and two injured in a fire followed by explosion at a cracker manufacturing unit near Chinnappampatti in the district tonight, police said.

The reason for the fire and subsequent explosion was yet to be ascertained, they said.

The deceased were identified as Priya, Raja, Ajith and Vellachi, they said.

The injured have been admitted to government hospital.
