Gang hacks tea stall owner to death

A six-member gang hacked a roadside tea shopowner here on Saturday for asking money for the tea consumed by them, police said.

Marimuthu (41) had asked the six to pay for the tea they had bought and they picked up a quarrel with him, they said.

Following this, the gang attacked Marimuthu with a sickle and fled, they said.

Meanwhile, Marimuthu was taken to a hospital but he died on the way, the police said, adding that a search was on for the gang.
