GDA guard suspended for beating up boy

A Ghaziabad Development Authority guard has been suspended by vice-chairperson Ritu Maheshwari for allegedly thrashing a minor boy, who is a son of a woman sanitation worker.

The boy was allegedly tied with a string on the premises of the GDA.

Maheshwari said the errant guard, Rakesh Babu, has been suspended for beating up the boy. A video of the beating of the minor boy went viral on social media.

The guard told officials that they boy had stolen a kettle.

An inquiry has been initiated against the errant guard, the GDA vice-chairperson said.
