A girl student was today killed on the spot while over dozen students sustained injuries when a school van in which they were travelling collided with a truck, police said.
The accident took place on Moga-Amritsar road near Daulewala village, 10 km from here, police said. At the time of accident, there was thick fog.
School van collided with a truck coming from opposite direction, police said.
People from nearby areas rescued the student. Among injured, five sustained serious injuries and they have been admitted to civil hospital, police said.

Meanwhile, a report from Hoshiarpur said the injured students were studying in GRD Public School Tanda.
All the injured students were between the age group of four and 14 years.
