Goa government today said it would soon give its approval to both the popular annual electronic dance music (EDM) festivals -- Sunburn and Supersonic -- scheduled to be held in the state in the last week of this month.

"Both the EDM festivals will get approval from the state government. The committee set up to look into the tourism events are going through the proposals," Parulekar told reporters today," state Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar said today.

Both the privately-organised popular events are scheduled to be held between December 27 and 30, but are awaiting the state government's approval.

The minister added that in order to avoid any kind of "revenue leakages", the organisers of these events would be directed to deposit the tax with the Tourism Department from this year onwards.

"The Tourism Department will then deposit the amount with respective departments," the minister said.

Sunburn is annually held in Vagator, while Supersonic is organised at Candolim beach both in North Goa. Both the festivals are highly sought-after by youngsters, who are fond of electronic dance music.
