Customs sleuths today seized 2.7 kilogram of gold bars worth Rs 78.30 lakhs from a woman passenger at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad here.
Based on intelligence profiling, the officers of Customs Air Intelligence Unit intercepted one passenger Patima Shaheen, who arrived at 3.30 hours by Qatar Airways flight.
After detailed examination of her luggage, officials recovered 2.7 kilograms of gold bars, authorities said.

On questioning about possession of any dutiable/prohibited goods, she had initially replied in negative. Shaheen was subsequently interrogated and admitted to the offence.
Follow-up investigation is on, officials said.
