The customs at the NSC Bose International Airport here today seized 675 gms of gold valued at Rs 17 lakh from a passenger on his arrival here from Bangkok by a Thai Airways flight.
The yellow metal was seized from a passenger Md Enamul Hasan, a resident of Kamarhati in North 24 Parganas district, after he was intercepted by the Customs officers on his arrival here.
The valuables were concealed in the passenger's slippers, Customs officers said.
