Government Railway Police rescues child labourers

As many as 94 youth from different parts of the country who were being brought to work as labourers here were rescued by the Government Railway Police (GRP) at Secunderabad railway station, a GRP official said today.

Some of them are under 14 years, Secunderabad Railway Inspector A Anjaneyalu said, adding that most of them belong to Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha.

Based on information that child labourers were being brought here, a GRP team conducted searches and found 55 minors among 94 youth, the official said.

The minors have been shifted to a rescue home and further investigations are on, the official said.
 

On July 26, as many as 14 minor boys were rescued by the city police from Secunderabad railway station after they claimed to have busted an inter-state human trafficking racket.
