The government today advised students seeking admission in ITIs for training under the craftsman scheme to verify complete credentials of the institutes before enrolment.
In a statement, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship said joint inspection teams from the Directorate General of Training (DGT) and state governments have inspected private industrial training institutes (ITIs) in a few states to ascertain the quality of infrastructure and also the training imparted therein.
"The inspection reports received from the teams are being scrutinised at DGT and action may be initiated as per the NCVT (National Council for Vocational Training) norms against those ITIs where discrepancies have been reported.
"Therefore, students have been advised to verify complete credentials of the institutes before taking admission," said the ministry.
