Groundnut, crude palm oil slip; castor oil rises

The wholesale oils and oilseeds market depicted a weak trend today with prices of groundnut mill delivery and crude palm oils falling on muted demand from retailers and millers and fell Rs 50 per quintal.

In the non-edible section, castor oil, however, firmed up on the back of rising demand from consuming industries.

Traders attributed fall in select edible oils to fall in demand at prevailing levels amid increased supplies in the market.

Among the edibles, groundnut mill delivery oil (Gujarat) fell Rs 50 to Rs 9,050 per quintal, while groundnut solvent refined (per tin) shed Rs 10 to Rs 1,690-1,740.
 

Crude Palm Oil (Ex-kandla) also showed some weakness due to subdued demand fell by Rs 20 to Rs 4,230 per quintal.

In line with overall trends, palmolein (RBD) too drifted Rs 30 to Rs 5,570 per quintal.

In the non-edible segment, castor oil strengthened by Rs 20 to Rs 9,870-9,970 per quintal on the back of pick up in demand from consuming industries.

Oilseeds: Mustard seed Rs 2,950-3,050 and groundnut seed Rs 2,150-2,900. Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) Rs 850-1,065.

Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) Rs 9,050, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) Rs 1,690-1,740, Mustard expeller (Dadri) Rs 7,930, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,335-1,385, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,385-1,485, Sesame Mill delivery Rs 7,900, Soyabean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) Rs 6,620, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) Rs 6,320, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) Rs 4,230, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) Rs 5,900, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 5,570, Palmolein (Kandla) Rs 5,500 and Coconut (per tin) Rs 2,050-2,100.

Non-edible oils: Linseed Rs 8,560, Castor Rs 9,870-9,970, Neem Rs 5,350-5,450.
