Guargum prices rose by Rs 72 to Rs 6,270 per quintal in futures trading today on the back of widening of positions by participants amid a firm trend at the domestic and overseas markets.
Besides, scarcity of ready stocks on irregular arrivals from growing regions, supported the upside in guargum prices at futures trade, marketmen said.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, guargum delivery for delivery in January contracts gathered another Rs 72 to Rs 6,270 per quintal, with an open interest of 26,230 lots.
On similar lines, guargum for delivery in far-month February month shot up by Rs 67 or 1.07 per cent to Rs 6,334 per quintal, in an open interest of 21,500 lots.
