The two deaths were reported yesterday from Sundargarh and Sonepur districts.
In the state capital, where maximum temperature hovered around 42 deg C for the last two days, the mercury again rose to 44.1 deg C, the MeT said.
The highest temperature of 45 deg C was recorded at Sundargarh followed by 44.5 deg C at Talcher, 44.2 deg C at Hirakud, 44.1 deg C in Sambalpur, 43.7 deg C at Jharsuguda and 42.9 deg C in Angul, they said.
As western Odisha continued to reel under the scorching heat, Bolangir recorded a maximum temperature of 42 deg C and Bhawanipatna 41.2 deg C.
The MeT office here predicted thunder squall and rains at some places by tomorrow.
