Heatwave continues to sweep Haryana and Pb, Hisar records 44 C

The heat wave conditions continued to sweep Haryana and Punjab, with maximum temperatures today again hovering between 41-44 degrees Celsius at most places.

Scorching heat prevailed at Hisar, where the maximum temperature settled at 44 degrees Celsius, the MeT Department report said here.

Narnaul also experienced a hot day at 41.5 degrees Celsius while maximum temperature recorded at Ambala was 41.7 degrees Celsius, up two notches.

Chandigarh residents braved yet another hot day at 42 degrees Celsius, up three notches from normal.

Patiala in Punjab recorded a maximum of 42.4 degrees Celsius, up two notches while Ludhiana, too, got no relief from the ongoing hot weather, with mercury settling at 42 degrees Celsius.
 

Amritsar's maximum settled at 41.7 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal.

Meanwhile, "Chabeels" (sweetened water) were organised at different places in the two states including Chandigarh, especially near the gurdwaras and passersby were offered the cold sweetened water.
