Heatwave, ridden by Md Hesnain, won the Guruvayur Plate, the main event of the races here today.

The winner, trained by B Suresh, is a property of Dr M A M Ramaswamy Chettiar of Chettinad Charitable Trust.

Trainer Suresh ended the day with a tally of three winners.
