Hot weather conditions prevailed
in most parts of Haryana and Punjab today, with Narnaul sizzling at a high of 44.6 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal.
Among other places in Haryana, blistering heat swept Hisar, which recorded a high of 42.9 degrees Celsius and Bhiwani registered a maximum temperature of 42.1 degrees Celsius, the MeT Department said.
The maximum temperature in Ambala was 38.4 degrees Celsius.
In Punjab, Amritsar experienced a hot day at 40.7 degrees Celsius, while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximum temperatures of 40.6 degrees Celsius and 38.7 degrees Celsius respectively.
Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, recorded a high of 39 degrees Celsius.
