Movement demanding implementation of Inner Line Permit system in Manipur under the banner of Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) has intensified as the strikers blocked the roads without serving prior notice to the public from today, police said.
In several areas in four districts of Manipur, Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Bishnupur agitators staged sit-in-protest and human chain, demanding implementation of inner line permit system in Manipur, they added.
Since yesterday, 13 people including 5 students with two girls were undergoing fast unto death in Manipur's Imphal East and Imphal West districts to press their demand.

The agitators started blocking of road today at Imphal-Kangchup road via Uripok, Imphal Mayai Lambi road, Nagamapal road, Imphal airport road, etc. In Manipur's Imphal West district.
The agitators also blocked the roads at Kongba Nandeibam Leikia, Wangkhei Laishram Leirak, Soibam Leikai, Nongmeibung Nambamchuthek, Porompat Ayangpali road, Imphal-Ukhrul road, Imphal-Andro road via Yairipok, in Manipur's Imphal East district.
Sit-in-protest were also staged in several part of Thoubal and Bishnupur districts of Manipur today.
Agitators from Naoremthong Laishram Leirak and Khulem Leikai forcibly shut down the government offices located at Lamphelpat areas including the office of the deputy commissioner, Imphal West district, Education (school) Directorate, Excise Department, State Council of Educational Research and Training (SERT), Settlement office, Election department, Employment department, Fisheries department, Labour department, Cooperative department.
