IMFL worth Rs 70 lakh seized from truck
Excise department has seized illegal stock of Indian Made Foreign Liquor of various brands worth Rs 70 lakh near Chandvad in Nashik district today and arrested a truck driver.
A flying squad checked the truck at a dhaba (roadside eatery) on Mumbai-Agra highway and found 863 boxes of the IMFL of various brands, an official said.
The seized IMFL was manufactured in Haryana.
The officials suspect that the liquor was being brought for sale in Mumbai by evading excise duty.
The driver has been identified as Dharmender Singh Parmanand Singh.
