The 13th day of the winter session of Odisha Assembly today again witnessed unruly scenes, walk-outs and frequent adjournments as Opposition members disrupted the proceedings demanding discussion on the multi-crore chit fund scam.

As soon as the House assembled for the Question Hour, Opposition members, including Congress Chief Whip Tara Prasad Bahinipati, climbed onto the Speaker's podium and tried to disrupt his speech.

Congress members holding banners and shouting anti-government slogans in the well of the House disrupted the proceedings.

Unable to run the House, Speaker Niranjan Pujari announced adjournment of the House barely within five minutes till 11.30 AM. Similar scene was witnessed when the House re-assembled at 11.30 AM and then at 12.15 PM.

Finally, when the House again assembled at 3 PM, the opposition members again created a din disrupting the business.

However, Speaker Pujari allowed debate on the Odisha State Open University Bill, 2014. The opposition Congress and BJP members walked out of the House when the Bill was taken up for discussion. Finally the Bill was passed in absence of the opposition.

Speaker Pujari, however, once again made it clear that he would not allow a debate on the chitfund issue as it was sub-judice.
