India, France to strengthen ties in shipping, roads, ports

India and France today deliberated upon ways to boost bilateral cooperation in ports, shipping and highways sectors.

The talks were held here between Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and visiting French Minister of State for Transport, Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Alain Vidalies.

Both leaders also discussed reducing carbon footprint of public transport-electric buses, LNG-fueled barges etc, besides plans to promote investments, an official said after Vidalies called on Gadkari here.

Both nations evinced interest in enhancing cooperation in the various sectors.
