Intellectuals take out rally against rise of communalism

The intellectuals of Kolkata today took out a rally against rise of communalism in the state and appealed to people to maintain communal harmony and secularism in the state.

The rally was taken out from the Esplande area to Moulali in central Kolkata.

Educationist Pabitra Sarkar, former judge of Supreme Court Ashok Ganguly, actor Sabysachi Chakraborty participated in the rally.

Nobel laureate Amartya Sen extended his support to the rally in a written message, which was read out in the rally.
