J K CEO Shantmanu gets central deputation

Jammu and Kashmir's Chief Electoral Officer Shantmanu was today appointed Development Commissioner (Handicraft) in Ministry of Textiles here.

Shantmanu, a 1991 batch IAS officer of Jammu and Kashmir cadre, has been appointed to the post for a period of five years, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said, without citing any reason.

A Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) acts as distant arm of Election Commission in a state.
