Norwegian Ambassador to India Eivind S Homme today called on Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra here and discussed new areas of cooperation by his country in the state.
During the meeting, the Governor and the Ambassador also discussed the implementation of various programmes which are being run under the Norway-India partnership initiative 2013-17, an official spokesman said.
"The envoy met the Governor at Raj Bhavan and the two also discussed new areas which need to be covered in the coming years," he said.

The Governor recalled the very strong bilateral ties between the two countries, which commenced within days of India attaining freedom.
"Vohra invited the Ambassador to pay a longer visit and view the fruitful possibilities which exist for Norwegian investors to launch some mutually beneficial projects in the state," said the spokesman.
He said the Governor also referred to the high potential of Indo-Norwegian collaborations in the education sector and fostering of joint research programmes in identified fields.
