The picturesque state of Jammu and Kashmir will play host to the National School Games in Badminton and Speedball scheduled to be held in September this year.
"Srinagar will be the host city for Under-14 age group Boys and Girls in Badminton event of the National School Games," Director General of Youth Services and Sports Department Naveen Agarwal told PTI.
"The Badminton event will be held from September 26-October 1," Agarwal said.

He informed that Speedball event will be held in Under-19 age category for boys and girls and run concurrently with the Badminton event.
Agarwal is hopeful of good number of talented Badminton players coming to the fore during the six-day event here.
"This is the event where outstanding talent will be spotted and honed for future," he added.
Agarwal, a senior IPS officer, said the atmosphere was conducive for holding national level sports events in Kashmir.
"We have held several national level tournaments over the past couple of years including one earlier this year," he added.
These sporting events are held under the auspices of School Games Federation of India (SGFI), which awarded Annual Fair Play Award to Jammu and Kashmir Department Youth Services and Sports for year 2013-14.
