Jharkhand Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma today asked the police to ensure absolute law and order in the state ahead of the two-day Global Investment Summit next month to instill confidence among investors.
She also issued directions to identify anti-social elements creating hurdles in development projects and take action against them while also ensuring adequate security wherever work was on.
Saying that development work should not be hampered at any level, Verma stressed on gathering intelligence and working in coordination with the Home Department, an official release said quoting her.

She issued the directions through video conferencing with all district deputy commissioners, senior superintendents of police and superintendents of police, the release said.
The DCs and SPs were asked to convene meetings with different agencies engaged in development work, know the problems and address them.
She also issued directions that if there was any law and order problem, police force might be deployed and police patrolling be ensured, the release said.
Proper arrangements be made for the Republic Day and the Saraswati Puja, she said, and asked the police to strengthen its control rooms.
Verma also sought action against chit fund companies and crack down on illicit liquor sale in the state.
Home Secretary S K Rahate, ADG Anurag Gupta, IG (operations) Ashish Batra among others were present during the meeting, the release said.
