The Centrally administered JIPMER here is holding "Smile Train Cleft Lip" awareness week on the premises of the hospital from August 10 to 16.
A release from the Department of Plastic Surgery in JIPMER said today that JIPMER has been implementing various programmes under the Smile Train Project since July last year.
'Smile Train' is an organisation headquartered in New York, which is offering training and awareness programmes for physicians, surgeons, dentists, speech therapists, para medical staff, nursing care givers, parents and children suffering from cleft lip and palate.
It is a charity organisation providing corrective surgery for cleft lip and palate.
JIPMER is associated with the Smile Train organisation to serve affected children.
