Led by JKNPP provincial general secretary Rajesh Pargotra, the protesters raised slogans against the government and said it was inhuman on the part of the state to curtail electricity and water supply in the scorching weather.
They also burnt the effigy of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who holds the Power Development Department (PDD) portfolio, and also strongly criticised the working of Public Health Engineering (PHE) authorities who are responsible for fulfiling the drinking water needs of the public.
Pargotra also criticised the working of the coalition government and accused Industries and Commerce Minister S S Slathia of ignoring the area regarding development activities.
Pargotra warned the government about starting an agitation if it did not provide drinking water, electricity and also develop the area.
