Kazi Nazrul Islam University gets first VC

This was informed by Churulia District Magistrate Omkar Singh Meena.

Sources said around 25 colleges of Asansol, Purulia and Birbhum will be delinked from Burdwan University, which currently has around 119 colleges under its fold, from the next academic session and tagged to the new one.

Named after the rebel poet, the Nazrul Islam University was announced by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in May.
