Kristen Schaal joins J K Simmons in 'The Runaround'

"Last Man on Earth" actress Kristen Schaal has joined Oscar-winner J K Simmons and Emile Hirsch in an upcoming indie comedy "The Runaround".

Seth W Owen has written the screenplay, which centres on a workaholic father (Simmons), who attempts to visit his daughter during a last-minute layover in Los Angeles only to discover that she's disappeared.

He is forced to team up with her awkward ex-boyfriend (Hirsch) to find her over the course of one night.

Schaal, 37, will play the high-strung, New Age-y woman who hosts the two men in her home, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Gavin Wiesen ('The Art of Getting By') is directing the film.
