Luck failed to smile on Lalu Prasad's eldest daughter Misa Bharti who lost to "uncle" Ramkripal Yadav of BJP by 40,322 votes on Patliputra Lok Sabha seat.

Yadav bagged 3,83,262 votes while Misa Bharti secured 3,42,940 votes.

Sitting JD(U) MP Ranjan Yadav managed to get 97,228 votes.

Defeat of Misa Bharti reflects poor on Lalu Prasad who had put up all efforts to see her through in this yadav dominated constituency in Patna district.

Giving ticket to daughter forced his long time associate Ramkripal Yadav to rebel against him and join BJP.

To win the seat for daughter at all cost, Lalu Prasad even visited house of notorious criminal Ritlal Yadav and made him party general secretary. But, a strong "Modi wave" watered down all his efforts.
