Press Trust of India New Delhi
Lead prices were down by 0.25 per cent to Rs 140 per kg in futures trading today owing to sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in current month eased by 35 paise, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 140 per kg, in a business turnover of 300 lots.

Metal for delivery in January shed 30 paise, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 140.40 per kg in 22 lots.

Market analysts said apart from offloading of positions by participants ahead of monthly expiry, sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market, mainly kept pressure on lead prices at the futures trade.
