panic among locals for the several weeks, was trapped today by forest officials at Letekujan tea estate in Jorhat district of Assam.
The adult female leopard had injured three persons last week and people living in the tea estate had complained to the forest authorities.
A trap was set up last night and the animal was caught at around 10.30 am during the day, forest department sources said.
The leopard has been taken to Kaziranga National Park where it will be set free, the sources added.
