Life term for man for shooting girl's father resisting teasing

A man, who shot at a girl's father after he resisted her eve-teasing, was today sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court which held him guilty of attempting to murder.

Brijpal was shot at and hospitalised in serious condition when he opposed eve teasing of his daughter by accused Shrikant Tyagi at Kallerpur village here on March 3, 2014, According to government lawyer?Kayyum Ali.

Additional District Sessions Judge Amber Rawat also imposed a fine of Rs one lakh on Tyagi after holding him guilty under IPC section 307.

The court has directed that the accused will pay to the injured of Rs 50,000 from the fine.
