Low demand drags down refined soya oil futures by 0.49%

Refined soya oil prices moved down by 0.49 per cent to Rs 700.55 per 10 kg in futures trade today as participants trimmed their positions amid sluggish demand in the spot market against ample stocks.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in February month declined by Rs 3.45, or 0.49 per cent to Rs 700.55 per 10 kg with an open interest of 41,000 lots.

On similar lines, the oil for delivery in March contracts shed Rs 3.15, or 0.45 per cent to Rs 690.55 per 10 kg in 31,020 lots.

Analysts said trimming of positions by traders amid tepid in demand in the spot market against adequate stocks stocks position on increased supplies from growing regions, mainly influenced refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
