Maldives national detained for overstay

A 23-year-old Maldivian national has been detained here today by police for allegedly overstaying in India.

The detained man, Azeem Hussain had been staying in Delhi and arrived here today to board a flight to Maldives.

However, airport officials detained him after it was detected that he had overstayed by a year.

He was handed over to the police. He is being interrogated.
