Man arrested with one kg gold at airport

A man coming in from Dubai was arrested at the Karippur International Airport here for allegedly trying to smuggle in one kg of gold.

Anwar, a passenger of Dubai-Kozhikode Air India, was arrested by the officials of Air Customs Intelligence after a gold bar, valued at about Rs 25 lakh, was found hidden in his shoes, custom sources said.

Anwar, arrested last night, would be produced before a court today, they said.
