Man attacked in Jammu, one accused held with pistol

A man was attacked today by three miscreants who allegedly opened fire at him in Jammu, police said.

According to information received at Pacca Danga police station, a scuffle was going on at Exchange Road in the city following which a police team immediately reached the spot and found that three miscreants allegedly attacked Inderjit Singh alias Honey in front of his shop, a police officer said.

Of the trio, one person namely Supreet Singh alais Raja fired a gun shot at him, which he missed, the officer said, adding that in the meantime another person attacked Inderjeet with a sword.
 

A hue and cry was raised due to the incident and consequently the trio fled from the spot.

The police party swung into action and conducted several raids to nab the accused, he said, adding that during the course of investigation it came to surface that one of the three absconding accused, Supreet Singh, was seen in Dogra Hall area in the city.

Thereafter, a police team conducted a raid and apprehended the main accused along with the weapon used in attacking Inderjeet, he said, adding that the accused is also involved in many other criminal cases.

Search for remaining two accused is on, he said.
