Man gets lifer for raping minor girl

A man has been awarded life imprisonment by a local court here for raping a four-year-old girl in Chandpur area in 2014.

Additional District Judge, Sandeep Jain yesterday awarded life imprisonment to Sonu Verma for raping the minor girl on August 7, 2014.

The incident had taken place when the girl along with her father had gone to a function held at a temple in Siau village, Senior Prosecution Officer Ahsan Ahmad Ansari said.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 on him.
