Man held for possessing illicit gun

A 45-year old man was today arrested for allegedly possessing a country-made gun, police said.

During a routine patrol in Kottappatti area, around 60 km from here, a police team found a man fleeing on seein them.

After a chase, the team caught him and found he was possessing an illicit country made gun.

He was arrested and produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court in Harur which remanded him to 15 days judicial custody, the police added.
