Man kills cousin over Rs 500

A youth allegedly killed his cousin when she refused to pay Rs 500 to buy liquor, but was lynched later by villagers at Moidangpokp in Imphal West district of Manipur, police said today.

N Samananda (25) strangulated his cousin N Chaoba (28) to death when she refused to pay him Rs 500 to purchase liquor yesterday.

After hearing the news, angry villagers beat up Samananda to death.

Two FIRs have been registered in this connection.
