All seven persons, including two engineers of the state irrigation and flood control department, who were kidnapped by suspected Kuki militants, were today released by their abductors, official sources said.
Sources said suspected Kuki militants kidnapped seven persons last Thursday while they were returning to Imphal after inspecting the progress of the construction of the barrage at Dolaithabi area, about 25 km north east of here.
The seven persons were superintending engineer Karunacharya Singh, executive engineer N Surchand, two officials of a Kolkata-based construction company Abhijit Sinha and Debajit Sinha, contractor Sanayaima Sharma and two drivers, they said.
