Manipur CM appeals to militants to join mainstream

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh today appealed to all militants to join the mainstream.
The Chief Minister made the appeal at a function where top belonging to banned People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak-Progressive (PREPAK-Pro) surrendered before him here.
"I am very happy that two militants have surrendered to join the mainstream. I appeal to all local militants to join the mainstream. I also appeal to those youths who have fled their homes to join militancy to return to mainstream," Singh said.

The two militants - self-styled 'Sergeant Major' Salam Sitoljit (28) a resident of Uripok Khumanthem Leikai and self-styled 'Corporal' Pebam Bishorjit (24) a resident of Kiyamgei Awang Leikai surrendered before the chief minister, a state government press release said.
The two militants surrendered after escaping from their Myanmar camp, officials said.
