Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi today congratulated Kailash Satyarthi and Malala Yousufzai for winning the Nobel Peace Prize for 2014.

Every citizen in India is feeling honoured upon conferment of the Nobel Peace Prize to Satyarthi, who has been campaigning for child rights over the past three decades, he said in a statement.

The award is a fitting recognition to the Madhya Pradesh-based child rights activist for rescuing thousands of children from forced labour and trafficking through his NGO - Bachpan Bachao Abhiyan, the Chief Minister said.

Manjhi said that the Nobel Peace Prize to Satyarthi will inspire all fellow citizens to work for betterment of the society and humanity so that their names too could be printed in the annals of history and motivate the succeeding generation of people to do good works.

Rural Works Minister Shrawan Kumar has also congratulated Satyarthi for bringing laurels to the country after winning the Nobel Peace Prize with Malala Yousufzai and said the award to two distinguished people of the Indian sub-continent has warmed the hearts of the people of the two countries.
