Actress Marion Cotillard has signed on to star in the movie adaptation of popular video game 'Assassin's Creed'.
The film will see the 36-year-old actress reuniting with her 'Macbeth' co-star Michael Fassbender, who's been cast to play the lead, "a bartender forced by a mysterious corporation to relive his ancestors' memories of stabbing people in the neck throughout history", reported Deadline.
Cotillard's part for the New Regency and Ubisoft's film remains unknown. Her role will possibly be part of the film's possible multiple franchise.
A release date for 'Assassin's Creed' has been set for December 21, 2016, with production scheduled to start in fall.
Tapped to direct the movie is Justin Kurzel, who also directed Cotillard and Fassbender in 'Macbeth', which is slated to be released later this year.
