Rains today lashed parts of Haryana and Punjab, bringing the maximum temperatures close to normal levels at most places.
Residents in Chandigarh woke up to an overcast sky. The Union Territory recorded a high of 34.8 deg C, the MeT report said.
Karnal in Haryana was lashed by heavy rains -30.6 mm early today and the maximum temperature there settled at 33 deg C.

Ambala had a high of 35.1 deg C after light showers spattered the city while Hisar, which gauged 10.6 mm of rainfall, recorded a high of 33.5 deg C, three notches below normal.
Bhiwani, which had 18.2 mm of rainfall overnight, registered maximum temperature at 34.2 deg C.
Amritsar in Punjab had a pleasant day at 27.4 deg C, eight degrees below normal, after the holy city received 7 mm rains today. Maximum in Patiala settled at 34.4 deg C after light showers.
According to the MeT forecast valid for the next three days, light to moderate rain or thundershowers may occur at few places across the two agrarian states.
