Moong, masoor decline on subdued demand, increased supply

Moong and masoor prices fell up to Rs 50 per quintal on the wholesale pulses market today following fall in demand from stockists and retailers amid increased arrivals.

Other pulses, however, continued to be enquired at the previous levels on scattered support.

Traders said the fall in select pulses such as moong and masoor prices mostly due to weak demand against higher supplies.

In the national capital, moong and dal moong chilka local traded Rs 50 each lower at Rs 5,950-7,150 and Rs 7,050-7,450 per quintal, respectively.

Masoor small, bold and dal masoor local also fell by a similar margin to trade at Rs 4,300-4,550, Rs 4,500-4,600 and Rs 5200-5,300 per quintal respectively.
 

Following are today's pulses rates per quintal:

Urad 4,000-4,800, Urad Chilka (local) 5,550-5,750, best 5,750-6,350, Dhoya 6,050-6,450, Moong 5,950-7,150, Dal Moong Chilka local 7,050-7,450, Moong Dhoya local 7,300-7,400 and best quality 7,900-8,000.

Masoor small 4,300-4,550, bold 4,500-4,600, Dal Masoor local 5,200-5,300, best quality 5,300-5,400, Malka local 5,100-5,200, best 5,300-5,400, Moth 4,700-5,100, Arhar 4,200-4,300, Dal Arhar Dara 5,750-5,950.

Gram 2,900-3,850, Gram Dal (local) 3,650-3,850, best quality 3,850-3,950, Besan (35 kg) Shakti bhog 1,400, Rajdhani 1,400, Rajmah Chitra 7,300-10,800, Kabli Gram small 3,850-5,850, dabra 2,700-2,800, imported 4,700-5,100, Lobia 4,200-5,800, Peas white 2,950-3,000 and green 3,000-3,100.
