A local court today sentenced a woman and her son to life imprisonment after they were convicted of murdering a boy 12 years back in Begusarai district.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Krishna Gopal Dwivedi passed the order sentencing Saya Devi and her son Shambhu Yadav to life imprisonment and imposed Rs 6000 as fine on each for killing a 12-year-old boy Rajiv Kumar 12 years ago.
The two had taken the child to Kalpvas mela at Simaria ghat where they killed him due to family enmity and dumped his body near a 'bundh' on October 25, 2002.
All the three hailed from Rakhisai village under Barauni police station area.
The victim's family had lodged an FIR at Barauni police station after he went missing.
